Barbering
The revival of the urban barber shop has been sweeping the nation over the past few years and continues to build strength! Guests are seeking hip, edgy styles that only a barber can provide, which is why barber shops like Fellow Barber and Barber Lounge in San Francisco are thriving!
Because we pride ourselves in keeping a finger on the pulse of the beauty industry, Cinta Aveda Institute is now offering a Barbering Crossover Program.
In the Barbering Program you will learn the study of hair and its many forms and structures. Through hands on training, you will discover the different types of hair and facial hair as it pertains to ethnicity, curliness, thickness, and manageability.
What you will learn:
- Precision haircutting and coloring techniques
- Head shaving
- Beard and mustache trims
- Modern razor styling
- Clipper cutting
- Hot towel shaves
- Steam facials
- Facial massage
Charles Kirkpatrick, the executive officer of the National Association of Barber Boards of America, recently told the New York Times the number of licensed barbers had grown roughly 10 percent in the last two years, from 225,000 to 245,000.
